2020 Annual Giving Campaign

Our 2020

Annual Stewardship Campaign

First Fruits

This year’s annual giving campaign focuses on considering how we can give of our first fruits – a first portion of what we have as an offering to God. We believe annual giving is an expression of our thanks to God for all of God’s gifts. We are called to prayerfully consider prioritizing from our household budgets and giving back some of our treasure to God, offering our first fruits of our time, talent, and treasure.

Our Goal: $300,000 - we need your help in reaching our goal so that we can sustain our mission and building.

Pledge through REALM. If you need help with REALM, contact Emily at office@smjec.org

British and Commonwealth Remembrance Service

Please Join Saint Monica and Saint James for a Service of Remembrance. All are invited as we remember World War One - at the 11th hour on the 11th Day of the 11th month. We owe so much to those who paid the ultimate price in the war to end all wars.

In Flanders Fields

BY JOHN MCCRAE

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings or lessons from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir anthems.
